Funding Project for the printing and free distribution of:
500 Arhats and the Bodhisattva of Mercy

Jing Xin Yuan is working on a project to print a book of the paintings of 500 Arhats and the Bodhisattva of Mercy, for free distribution.

Below is a description on the artist and the work:

The Jin Ling temple located in the ancient city of Zibo, Linzi, capital of the ancient kingdom of Chi was built in the west Wei dynasty. For generations it experienced many calamities and ended up in a ruin. Only two Buddhist statues survived. In 2002, Master, Guo Shang rebuilt part of the temple and it has now over 70-80 resident cultivators.

Jin Ling Temple strictly cultivates the Pure Land Dharma Door. They also offer services to assist the dying in re-birth in Amitabha Buddha’s Pure Land. In the “Wang Sheng Tang” – Hall of Rebirth in the Pure Land, over 140 beings have crossed over and been reborn in Amitabha Buddha's Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

My teacher, Master Zhang, is 66 years old and was born in Shandong province. He currently resides in Jin Ling temple. Master Zhang is an artist with a skill to make paintings come alive. Since childhood he showed great interest in drawing, and later became a self taught artist. His specialty is landscape painting. Though he never tried to make himself famous, his works have been featured on the local, provincial and central television (CCTV) reports.

After he immersed himself deeply into the study of Buddhism, he concentrates in painting of the Bodhisattvas and Buddhas. He has written/illustrated books on "二十四孝-twenty four works on filial piety-", "二十四不孝" –twenty four works on un-filialness, "心香-Lighting the way for others"- Painting of the Pure Land’s thirteen patriarchs . Master Zhang has spent one year and seven months on his painting series called 500 Arhats and Bodhisattva of Mercy”. He is in the process of raising funds to have them printed for distribution.

Any contributions will be appreciated and may the grace of the 500 Arhats bless you.

Master Zhang said: "It brings me great happiness to be able to continue to spread the Buddha’s dharma for the benevolence of mankind without reward."

Donations are not tax deductible. All donations go directly to the printing costs of each book which will feature the 500 Arhats (Luo Han), and the Bodhisattva of Mercy (Guan Shi Yin Pusa). The books will be for free distribution only. There will be no extra funds left behind, for all donations go to the printing of as many books as possible.
